Cara D’Emanuele has dedicated her 30 year career to educating and inspiring children, teens and young adults. Her infectious spirit, dynamic personality and fabulous sense of humor are a perfect blend with high artistic standards and "old school" expectations. She guides her students towards success through private coaching in voice, acting and auditioning, as well as classes, workshops and career mentoring. She specializes in musical theatre and acting training as well as audition preparation (school and community theatre auditions, NYC auditions for Broadway and National Tours, regional theatre and summer stock auditions, auditions for competitive summer intensives and collegiate programs, and auditions for film, television and commercial projects). Although she is renowned for her work with young artists, she welcomes adult students who have goals ranging from professional stage or screen careers to simply building more confidence while performing with community choirs or theatre productions.
Students from Cara's studio have been accepted to some of the country's most prestigious collegiate programs including NYU Tisch, Wagner College, Ithaca College, Syracuse University, Boston Conservatory of Music, Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, Point Park University, Elon, Emerson, Belmont University and The University of Michigan. Student credits include Broadway (King Kong, Matilda, Newsies, West Side Story), National Tours (Jesus Christ Superstar, Wicked, Anything Goes, Beauty and The Beast, Oliver, West Side Story, All Shook Up, Gypsy, The Music Man), professional regional theatres including Geva Theatre (A Christmas Carol, A Christmas Story, To Kill a Mockingbird, A Midsummer Night's Dream, The Music Man, Our Town) and Blackfriars Theatre (Sunday in The Park with George, Rags, Zorba, The Grapes of Wrath, Violet). Studio alum have experienced successful careers as classical actors and triple threat musical theatre performers, LA and NYC-based stage and screen actors, and ... a Grammy-winning pop music composer, independent film makers, casting directors, and a popular national television morning talk show host.
Cara's extensive knowledge of plays and classic and contemporary musical theatre repertoire is nothing less than impressive. Her ability to select appropriate songs and monologues, considering the individual actor or singer's age, type, and level of skill is unsurpassed. She is sincerely dedicated to guiding each student through their own individual journey by providing the best possible technical and artistic training, by emphasizing and expecting preparation and professionalism, even with the youngest of students, and by supporting students as they work towards not only developing their performing skills but also building self-awareness and self-confidence.

RENT's Wilson Jermaine Heredia (Tony winner)
Students were greatly inspired by a Musical Theatre Song Interpretation Master Class with Tony Award winner Wilson Jermaine Heredia. Wilson won the Tony for his portrayal of Angel in the Broadway production of RENT. The weekend experience also included a Broadway Showcase featuring students from the studio and from throughout the greater Rochester area, songs by The Rochester Gay Men's Chorus and performances by Wilson. Students were star-struck, professional in rehearsal and humbled, knowing how fortunate they were to have shared the stage of Rochester's Lyric Theatre with a Tony Award winner.

NEWSIES' Corey Cott
Cara's dedication to providing exceptional experiences to young performers led her to produce a weekend with Broadway's Corey Cott. Students from the studio as well as other musical theatre students from throughout Upstate New York greatly benefited from a Musical Theatre Song Interpretation Master Class as well as a Broadway Showcase featuring student performances and songs performed by Corey. The sold-out VIP pre-showcase reception was tremendously successful, affording students and their parents the opportunity to create life-long memories during a photo shoot and autograph signing with one of Broadway's most accomplished talents. Corey's credits include Broadway's Gigi and Bandstand, although he is most well-known for replacing Jeremy Jordan as Jack in Broadway's Newsies.
